The July 27, 2026 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary spent time reviewing the success of the100th Birthday Party on Sunday, July 26. Good turn-out, good vibes, good time was had by all…including the furry visitor( a young raccoon) who emerged from a trash receptacle, went up a tree and later took off across an outfield…to escape the clean-up, probably. The food–ice cream especially–was well received; surplus snack items will be going to the NGCC food pantry. The lockboxes holding down the tablecloths got some attention and possible takers. The climbable critters of artist Bill Starcher got plenty of attention, and climbers. Banners, information posters and other paraphernalia will go into storage until the next event, which is likely to be the Reverse Raffle in November. Speaking of which, arrangements with SugarBush were okayed, names of previous sponsors were divvied up for contact and encouragement and thanks for ongoing contributions to this community-focussed event; forms and tickets will be available.
The muralist is working now that paint and weather are favorable; spare paint may be offered to Village maintenance. Deadline for reservations to the Guardians Rotary Night game is on Friday, July 31. RYLA participants will be asked to come for lunch to relate their experiences at that event.
Happy Bucks came in for a successful graduation party, a good birthday, the Jim Irwin article, grandbaby time, a real estate tale and a fine 100th x 4.
It’s all good.
