On Saturday, July 11th at 5 pm, the folks at M.O.R.E. Café will be hosting ‘MORE than a Walk,” and you’re invited. For those unfamiliar with the Hiram eatery, the M.O.R.E. Café provides differently abled adults with meaningful work, inclusive events, and social connections.
The event begins with a one mile walk around Hiram Village and will provide attendees with an opportunity to take a leisurely walk around the Village and get to know some of the M.O.R.E. Café staff. The walk starts at 5pm. Register to be a part of the walk for just $20 and you’ll receive a unique ‘M.O.R.E. Than a Walk,’ t-shirt.
Immediately following the excursion, the community is invited to a backyard BBQ behind The M.O.R.E. Cafe. Enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers off the grill as you meet the team who works at the Café. This family-friendly event will feature a balloon artist and face painting for the kids. (In case of inclement weather, the walk and BBQ will be held at the Kennedy Center on the Hiram College campus nearby.)
That night, you’re welcome to enjoy music and check out the silent auction items as well. And at 7 pm, the Café’s famous donuts will be served, alongside a discussion about the meaningful work done at the Café. All proceeds raised during the event will go directly to the non-profit’s mission to offer meaningful opportunities to differently abled individuals.
To register for this first annual ‘MORE Than A Walk’ fundraiser visit the M.O.R.E. Cafe website at themorecafe.com. The M.O.R.E. Cafe is located at 6821 Wakefield Road in Hiram.
