Hiram College Celebrates Record-Breaking Giving Day 2026

511

Hiram College is proud to announce that Giving Day 2026, held on Friday, March 27, set a record for donor participation and dollars raised, marking the most successful Giving Day in the College’s history.

A total of 409 donors came together to contribute $807,536, representing a 124% increase in donors and a 49% increase in total dollars raised compared to last year. This year’s Giving Day was intentionally designed to emphasize participation as much as philanthropy, reinforcing that every gift, regardless of size, plays a vital role in strengthening the College and expanding opportunities for students.

Centered on the theme “One Day. All In.,” the day united the entire Hiram community—alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends —in a shared commitment to support current and future Terriers. Notably, 74% of all gifts came from alumni, a powerful reflection of the enduring connection and pride graduates have in their alma mater.

The College exceeded its initial goal of 250 donors and unlocked a $75,000 dollar-for-dollar match early in the day. Additional matching commitments, including $100,000 from the Board of Trustees and $5,000 from an anonymous Alumni Executive Board member, were fully realized as participation continued to grow throughout the day.

This unprecedented level of engagement extended across campus, with strong participation from faculty and staff, alongside 100% participation from the College’s Senior Cabinet and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

“Giving Day 2026 is a testament to the power of the Hiram community coming together,” said Shawn Dailey, vice president for development and alumni relations. “The number of donors who showed up in support of our students is truly remarkable. Each gift represents confidence in Hiram’s mission and a shared belief in the life-changing impact of a Hiram education.”

Funds raised during Giving Day will directly support student scholarships, academic programs, and campus initiatives, ensuring that Hiram continues to deliver meaningful, transformative educational experiences.
