Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

MS Support Group

If you or a loved one is living with Multiple Sclerosis, join our supportive and welcoming MS Support Group in Cortland, OH. We meet in person on the first Tuesday of every month at the Cortland Library to share experiences, offer encouragement, and connect with others who truly understand the journey. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing MS for years, this group provides a safe space for conversation, resources, and community. Young At Heart Meetings

3rd Tues of Month

Al Anon Meetings

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited.  The meal is from 5 – 6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township.  We hope to see you for good food and conversation.

Friends of the Garrettsville Library April 2026 Book Sale

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale will be held on the following dates: Friends ‘Members Only’ Presale Thursday, April 9, from 10 am to 2 pm; Open to the public Thursday, April 9, from 2 pm to 6 pm; Friday, April 10, from 10 am to 6 pm; and Saturday, April 11 from 10 am to 2 pm. Braceville UMC Rummage Sale

MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Dinner, from 4 -7pm, on Friday, April 10, 2026. This month’s menu includes hot soups and entrees, homemade salads, and mouthwatering desserts. The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount and cannot mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant. Donations are graciously accepted. Dining in or carryout is available. The dinner is held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township. Come to enjoy good food and great conversation.      

Concert to Benefit Kids Weekend Meals

Please join us for a concert on April 11, 5:00 PM  at the Hiram Christian Church with Sarah Park (Piano/Music Director at Mantua Center Christian Church), Daniel Oh (Vocals), and Minchae Kim (Violin) all three of whom are students/alumni of the Cleveland Institute of Music. This promises to be a memorable event with wonderfully talented musicians sharing their musical gifts to help fight hunger in our area. Donations to benefit Kids Weekend Meals, a local charity dedicated to providing food for children in the Crestwood School District.

James Renner True Crime Author Talk

Reed Memorial Library hosts a free talk with James Renner, local and best-selling true crime author, Saturday, April 11 at 2pm. Renner will give an in-depth presentation on the 1990 unsolved murder of Shaker Heights resident, Lisa Pruett, a case he explores in his recent book, Little, Crazy Children. A Q&A will follow the presentation.

Tiny Art Show at PCDL

All ages are invited to join us in our second Tiny Art Show and share your painting talents. Stop by to register, and pick up supplies in-person starting April 13 to April 18, while supplies last. You will receive a 3” x 3” canvas, paints, and a brush, plus some prompts for creative inspiration related to our theme, “Find Your Joy.” Supplies are limited to 30 registrants per branch. First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having our next monthly fund-raiser dinner on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 4 to 6 pm.  Sit down dinners are being served, as well as carry-out and drive-thru.  Dinners are $15.00 and this month includes Roast Pork, sauerkraut (cooked separately), stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw, applesauce, green beans, roll and dessert. The church is located at 4022 St Rt 44 in Rootstown Center.  If you are partaking in the drive-thru service, please enter from St Rt 44 and pull up to the back door.

The Garrettsville Library will be hosting an Alzheimer’s Support Program: Resources for Those Caring for Loved Ones with Dementia on Monday, April 20 from 11:00 – 12:00 pm. Join Laura Strader, Program Manager from the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Office as she gives the presentation “Building Foundations of Caring”. Limit to 16 people.
