Meeting on March 30, 2026, the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary entertained guests representing local First Responders groups–plolice, fire, EMS, – from Garrettsville, Windham, Hiram, P.C. Sheriff’s office for discussion of the coming Lockbox Program to be offered to local residents.Attendees viewed a flyer to be going out offering information/explanations of the program; they offered additions and corrections concerning procedures, residential qualifications, forms and labeling, contacts,–all in aid of making the effort for residents and their homes to be safer and more secure. Dates for presentation and sign-ups in the communities were decided for May and June. More information will be going out.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) will be held at Hiram College this year, with G-HRotary assisting as hosts. There is a district-wide fund-raiser being held at local Raising Canes restaurants.–Streetsboro, Kent are the local outposts..

The local EMS levy will be on the ballot in May–all were in favor.

Happy Bucks came in for the meeting itself, an enjoyable visit, communication from Owen Bass, a former exchange student, the new program underway, the start of baseball season, solitude, and “just becuz”.

It’s all good.
