The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Dinner, from 4 -7pm, on December 12, 2025. With festive decorations, wonderful aromas, and great conversation this month’s dinner will feature hot entrees, tasty salads, and scrumptious desserts. Donations are graciously accepted. Dining in or carryout is available. The dinner is being held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township. Come join us!
Friendly Squares Christmas Dinner Dance

The Friendly Squares will host their Christmas Dance, Saturday, December 13th at the Niles Scope Center,14 E. State St., Niles, Ohio. Square dancing will begin at 7:30 and continue until 10:00p.m. Gene Hammond and Neil Harnar will be the callers. This will be a High/Low dance, with alternating tips for new dancers currently taking lessons, and tips for more experienced dancers. Dress is casual. Breakfast with Santa will be held on December 13 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in the Church Hall. All are welcome to this FREE breakfast. If you are able, please bring an item for the Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard. Santa will arrive with presents around 11:00 a.m.
Roast Pork Dinner

First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having our next monthly fund-raiser dinner of the on Dec 20 from 4 to 6 pm. Sit down dinners are being served, as well as carry-out and drive-thru. Dinners are $15 and includes roast pork and sauerkraut (cooked separately), mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw, applesauce, green beans, corn, roll and dessert. The church is located at 4022 St Rt 44 in Rootstown Center. If you are partaking in the drive-thru service, please enter from St Rt 44 and pull up to the back door.
Celebrating The Light of Christmas

The Garrettsville United Methodist Church invites the community to their annual Christmas celebration in music with the presentation of “Glory to the Newborn King—Celebrating the Light of Christmas” on Sunday, December 21, 2025 in the sanctuary at 3:00 p.m. Performing will be the chancel choir, three handbell choirs and narrators, bringing familiar tunes as well as new interpretations of worshipful thought for the season.
All are invited, all are welcome. Come one, come all. Come for the Joy of the Season.
