Richard “Dick” R. Finney, 83, of Streetsboro, OH, formerly of Nelson Twp., OH, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1942, in Bedford, OH, to the late John and Hazel (nee Danielson) Finney.
He was raised in Nelson Twp. and graduated from James A. Garfield High School. Dick proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as the head of maintenance at Weatherchem, until his retirement. When he was able, Dick enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golfing. When his family needed anything, he was known to be the one to call to get the job done!
Dick will forever be missed by his loving wife, Doretha “Dee” Finney, with whom he was blessed to share over 40 years of marriage; children, Terri Smalley and Richard (Kim) Shaw, Jr.; grandchildren, Todd, Nick, Ryan, and Taylor; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Brianne Finney, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John “Dave” Finney, and son-in-law, Arthur “Arty” Smalley.
Dick will be privately buried at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville, OH. Services for Dick were entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
