The November 17, 2025 meeting of the James A. Garfield Historical Society dealt mostly with program planning for the upcoming 2026 year. This included putting together a committee to discover and organize one major presentation per quarter, with a local focus and interest; volunteers are welcome.
Delegates to the NEO InterMuseum Council were recruited. Thoughts were entertained on the village’s 250 year anniversary possible celebration–is Chamber interested?. “Death By Lightning”, the movie about James A.Garfield and his assassination was commented upon–members encouraged to see it. The replacement monument stone has been installed…thanks to Brett Pesicek. Intern Kyria Eaton relayed her work with HS students in organizing, describing and cataloging society materials using the “Past Perfect” program. Heating and air conditioning issues were discussed. The new society sign on the Mott Building has been blown down, will be replaced more securely
The annual Christmas Party will be held at the Welshfield Inn on December 16 at 6:00 p.m.
