Hello Again

961

Let’s get down to brass tacks. I am, to put it politely, unreliable. Gimme a week off and, “Lo, and Behold !” I’ll take whatever the traffic will bear–one week, two weeks, whatever. The danger is, will anyone even notice and say, “Whatever happened to that non-sport columnist that wrote about odd stuff from the almanac and such? Who knew that timber rattlesnakes moved to winter dens at the end of October? Who knew that October 28 was National First Responders Day this year(as it could be every day)? Maybe the column will be back this week…or not.

Did I get anything monumental done on the week off? No. Did I do anything much at all done with the wealth of spare time sitting on my plate? No. Did I even remember that it was a week off while the convention-goers worked on professional advancement for the good of humanity? And again, No.

A slacker, that’s me. In the meantime, the new kitten…the NEW KITTEN…is charming all and sundry (more than I can say for myself), while slowing up my progress toward much of anything when I have to keep track of the feisty feline who thinks that everyone wants to play and every look around reveals new places to go and fun things to do–not following boring old routines and patterns. I have to chase him down and follow all of the detours to get back home and safe–time consuming…but cute! Blessings on everyone who has supplied toys and kept an eye out so that he does not run into the street or down a hole(He’s already investigated tree-climbing–liked it.)or heaven-only-knows what else.

Maybe I’ll take next week off to rest up.
