Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

Young At Heart Meetings

3rd Tues of Month

Young at Heart  organization for 55 and older, meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall.  We gather for meals, meeting and fellowship.  All denominations are welcome.  To attend or for more information call Jackie 330-569-4048.

BINGO! At St. Ambrose

First & Third Tuesday

Al Anon Meetings

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal  

Last Thursday of Month

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. We hope to see you there for good food and conversation.

Grief Support Group Meeting

New Square Dance Sessions

The Friendly Squares, a local square dance group dedicated to keeping alive the uniquely American artform of square dancing, will begin a new year of weekly lessons.The introductory session will be Tuesday, Sept.9th from 7 to 9 PM. School’s In Session

The fall term at Drakesburg School # 2 will begin Tuesday September 9 at 7 PM.  A school marm will take us back to class in 1890.  Better brush up on your “readin’, writin’ & arithmetic”!  Our September program will feature a portrayal of a 1890ish one room school teacher.  Our programs are free and open to the public.  This program will be held in our one-room school located at 7276 St. Rt. 303.  We hope you’ll join us for this informative and entertaining evening.  Our bicentennial T Shirts and calendars will also be available for purchase.  Questions?  Call Judy @ 330.527.7669  & LMOM.

MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Dinner, from 4 -7pm, on September 12, 2025. This month’s dinner features hot entrees, cool salads, and scrumptious desserts. Each month’s menu is a surprise but always mouthwatering. The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount and cannot mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant. Donations are graciously accepted. Dining in or carryout is available. The dinner is being held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township. Come join us!

Memory Cafe

Join us at the Garrettsville Library on Friday, September 12 from 11:00 – 12:00 pm for our Memory Café: an informal, social gathering for individuals with dementia and memory related illnesses along with their families or caregivers. This event is limited to 20 individuals. This event is intended for adults. This event is both an Outreach and Garrettsville Library event.

Grill for Good

Grill for Good on Sept. 13th at Hometown Bank Plaza in Kent, benefiting Axess Family Services. This event with feature lots of great good samplings, craft beer, live music, and fun activities for the whole family. Following the recent merger of Family & Community Services and AxessPointe Community Health Centers, our newly formed Axess Family Services will be this year’s host and benefactor.

The Windham Library and AMETEK Food Forest Community Garden are hosting a Community Salsa Party at the Windham Library on Saturday, September 13 from 11:00 – 12:30 pm. Gather ingredients from the AMETEK Food Forest Community Garden to craft your own batch of summertime salsa! Limited to 6 participants. We’ll provide jars and ingredients; you’ll supply the creativity to craft your own recipe! Intended for adult and senior participants. The Friendly Squares of Niles will celebrate their 15th anniversary on Saturday September 13 from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. At the Niles Senior Center, 14 E. State St. Niles,Oh. Dress is casual and there is a $7 per person donation at the door. Gene Hammond and Neil Harnar will be the callers.

Hiram Historical Society Annual Fundraising Dinner

Join the Hiram Historical Society for An Evening of Community, Celebration, and Support on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Hiram Christian Church Hall. The evening begins with an optional Garfield Walking Tour at 4:30 p.m., followed by a professionally prepared 1880s-style White House dinner, live harp music, and a presentation by Deb Weinkamer as First Lady Lucretia Garfield. Friends of the Garrettsville Library October 2025 Book Sale

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale will be held on the following dates: Friends ‘Members Only’ Preview on Thursday, October 9, from 10 am to 2 pm; Open to the public Thursday, October 9, from 2 pm to 6 pm; Friday, October 10, from 10 am to 6 pm; and Saturday, October 11 from 10 am to 2 pm.
