Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

Young At Heart Meetings

3rd Tues of Month

Young at Heart  organization for 55 and older, meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall.  We gather for meals, meeting and fellowship.  All denominations are welcome.  To attend or for more information call Jackie 330-569-4048.

BINGO! At St. Ambrose

First & Third Tuesday

Al Anon Meetings

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Christ Lutheran Church 10827 Main St, Mantua will be offering their  Free Community Meal on on the third Wednesday of the month  from 5-6:30 pm. Please come and enjoy a wonderful meal and a  chance to visit with friends. For more info call the church at 330 274 2849.

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal  

Last Thursday of Month

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. We hope to see you there for good food and conversation.

Mantua Variety Market

Christ Lutheran Church is sponsoring the Mantua Variety Market on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm at 10827 N Main St., Mantua. Season runs from May 17 – August 23 (closed July 5). A wide selection of items can be sold – bakery, produce, crafts, plants, syrup, eggs, honey, garage sale items, etc. Vendors are needed. Fee is $1 per date. Grief Support Group Meeting

Community Outreach Giveaway

First Baptist Church, 2640 S. Canal Street, Newton Falls will be hosting a “Community Outreach Giveaway” on Friday and Saturday, August 15-16 from 9 AM to 3 PM each day.  The event is a “reverse Garage Sale” type-event where items are given away free.  Household items, knick-knacks, etc. will be available for any interested individuals.

The Wojtila Brothers Band

The Hungarian Cultural Center of Northeastern Ohio of 12027 Abbott Rd, Hiram is having another event on August 17th from noon to 6pm. Wojtila Brothers Band will be playing. Great food will be available for sale. $6 adult children under 12 free. Please do not bring pets or coolers. Hope to see you there.

Golden Street Singers

First Baptist Church, 2640 S. Canal Street, Newton Falls will be hosting “The Golden Street Singers” at the 10:45 AM Worship Service on Sunday, August 17. 

Charles and Brenda Jarvis have been ministering through music (southern gospel style) for 15 years.  Brenda is a former missionary in Mexico City

and Charles was the former publisher of The Tribune Chronicle.  They both are also authors of several books. All are welcome.

Pushin’ It In The Park

Let’s move it, people! Join Outdoor Recreation Specialist/Naturalist Trevor Wearstler to burn off those calories during his Nature Trek Fitness Hike on Sunday, August 17, at Sunnybrook Preserve.  Fun Nature facts will be flying, too, as we travel at least 4.5 miles on hill trails, rain or shine, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. – no registration required. Dress for the weather and bring water.

God Provides A Meal

Windham UMC will be having their monthly God Provides meal on August 29, 2025.  The menu includes Sloppy Joe’s, coleslaw , applesauce and cake.  This is a free meal, open to the public.  You must reserve your meal ahead of time.  If you would a meal, contact Mary at 330 -245-6889.  The meals can be picked up between 4 and 5 pm.  It is drive thru only.  The church is located at 9051 N. Main Street, Windham, OH 44288.  No Financial questions will be asked.  The only questions we ask are how many are in your household and the birthdays of each person.

New Square Dance Sessions

Register Today!

The Friendly Squares , a local square dance group dedicated to keeping alive the uniquely American artform of square dancing, will begin a new year of weekly lessons.The introductory session will be Tuesday, Sept.9th from 7 to 9 PM.
