Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

595

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary met on July 21, 2025 with the following items to consider:

* The presentation by Owen Bass on his experiences as a Rotary exchange student in India. His time in a place where there were challenges regarding virtually any sort of cultural and/or language interaction was a learning and growing experience from beginning to end. There were mountains, there was desert, there were elephants, there were monkeys, there were camels. Festivals were abundant, other exchange students joined in close friendships, the heat was ever-present–no AC. Foods were very vegetarian–not a McDonald’s burger to be found for the most part. The travel aspect of the experience was daunting but enjoyable, opening still more horizons. Owen would recommend that other students investigate and “take a chance” on widening their perspectives on the world; he will be speaking on his adventure throughout the district and urging others to find out more about the opportunity it presents. His travel jacket was covered with exchange pins, banners and other markers of his step into the future. Go, thou, and do likewise.

* Flyers and Tickets for the November Reverse Raffle are now available; meetings continue.

* Happy Bucks marked a good-looking Bass and the presentation itself, also an outstanding rendition of “Happy Birthday”.

It’s all good.
