Paul Edward Ranc passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Paul was born February 27, 1948, to Lillian (Klooz) and Charles J. Ranc. Paul was a 1966 graduate of James A Garfield High School in Garrettsville. From there he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed in Bar Harbor Maine. He was a rescue swimmer and a lighthouse keeper for Egg Rock lighthouse and West Quaddy Head Lighthouse both in Maine. He later went to work at General Motors and retired from there after 30 years of service.

Paul was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend. He loved getting together with his family and making many great meals for them. There were lots of trips to New York for family get-togethers, and beach vacations. He made sure his kids knew how to swim and loved the ocean as much as he did.

Paul loved helping anyone in their time of need, always had a funny story or a joke to tell to brighten your day.He always had the right words to say, and even some funny “Paulisms”- “Watch the traffic”, “Keep moving forward”, You’ve done too much already”, Kenny will get us there quicker, ha ha”. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Heidi Jones and brother Karel Ranc. and grandson Teejay Myers

He is survived by his wife Carol Ranc whom he shared many happy years with. Also, his two children,Regina Ranc Petersen, son in law Kenneth Petersen of Garrettsville, his son Jeremiah Ranc and daughter in law Selene Morton, of Cleveland, Ohio, and his son Tom Myers of Newton Falls, Ohio. He is also survived by sister Laura Creech, Georgia, Cathy Sears, New York, Charlie Rance, New York. Many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM at Sly Family Funeral Home. 15670 W.High Street Middlefield. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Grantz officiating.
