67

The Medici Museum of Art (9350 E Market St, Warren), Northeast Ohio’s newest art museum, invites visitors to explore its latest addition. Earlier this week, the museum proudly unveiled ‘Poseidon,’ a stunning new permanent exhibit. This six-foot-high bronze sculpture, created by renowned American sculptor Carole A. Feuerman in 2023, now greets visitors from the museum’s front lawn. ‘Poseidon’ marks the second time Feuerman’s extraordinary sculptures have been showcased at the Medici Museum of Art.

Feuerman pioneered the Superrealism movement, which she helped establish in the late 1970s. She is celebrated for her lifelike figurative works, particularly those depicting swimmers and dancers. Her art is held in collections in thirty-four museums worldwide. In 2011, she founded the Carole A. Feuerman Sculpture Foundation to support and promote the art of sculpture.

The Medici Museum of Art is excited to welcome visitors to experience this extraordinary piece and explore the diverse range of exhibits on display. ‘Poseidon’ is a testament to Feuerman’s artistic vision and mastery, and it promises to be a highlight of the museum’s collection.
