The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District wishes to thank everyone who participated in our 2024 Rain Barrel Yard Art Campaign. Six talented artists painted barrels that uniquely reflected Geauga County’s natural, cultural, agricultural, or historical resources. This year’s artists and their masterpieces included: The Guardian painted by Julie Bell and purchased by Annie Rodewig, Field of Tulips painted by Yvonne Delgado Thomas and purchased by Howard Bates, Summer’s Sweet Signs painted by Beth Halasz and purchased by Jennifer Salyers,Geauga Skies painted by Florida Forreal (with assistance from Michaela Brennan) and purchased by Jason Bowden, Off Season painted by Bob Kolcum and purchased by Howard Bates, and Out to Pasture painted by Byron Leffler and purchased by Tom Gehalo. The sale of the barrels collectively raised more than ever before… over $3,500! Proceeds support the district’s community education programs and the barrels will help conserve thousands of gallons of water in the future. Thanks to all who participated in this year’s campaign – especially the artists, bidders, and buyers! For more information on rain barrels, visit geaugaswcd.com or call 440-834-1122.
