Ronald “Ron” Dye, 82, of Nelson Twp., OH, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Nelson Twp., OH, on January 26, 1942, to the late Berlin and Mayme Dye.

He worked at General Motors in Lordstown for 31 years before retiring in 1998. Ron was a dedicated member of the UAW 1112 and served as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) representative for 20 years. He was also a volunteer with the Windham Fire Department for several years. After retirement, Ron enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, attending auctions, and hauling Amish crews. He had a passion for tinkering in his work shed, visiting flea markets, and, most of all, spending cherished time with his family. 

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia (Laymon) Dye, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage; children, Michael (Carol), Ronald (Debora), Greg (Brenda), and Bryan; grandchildren, Sarah, Chad (Amanda), Stephanie, Craig (Virginia), Andrew, Katie, Danielle (Craig), Kristin, Ryan, Zach (Whitney), Olivia, and Dylan (Kylie); 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Berlin, Hollis, and Patricia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom and Denny; sisters, Barbara, Evie, and Eloise; daughters, Cheryl and Brenda Lee; son, Danny William, and his grandson, Anthony.

Ron’s family would like to send a warm invitation to friends to join them for a Celebration of Life Sunday, January 26, 2025 (Ron’s birthday!), at 2:00 p.m., at the Nelson Community Center, 11642 Windham Parkman Rd., Garrettsville, OH 44231. We look forward to celebrating his life and memories with everyone.
