Garrettsville – The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce  wrapped up 2013 by celebrating another successful year of community involvement at its annual Holiday Social held on December 18th at Sugar Bush Golf Course. Over forty chamber members were treated to a delicious meal prepared by The Pasta House & Sherry Quiggle. They  even enjoyed a brief visit from Santa Claus himself. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend this year’s event, we hope to see even more of you at the 2014 Holiday Social!

This year over $104,000 was spent locally during  the Chamber’s annual Christmas on Main promotion. Unlike previous years, the 2013 shopping season was shorter and  lasted only 17 days — yet brought in over $6,000 a day for participating area businesses.

Following the Holiday Social dinner, chamber treasurer Erika Frankel selected the three winning cards from an assortment of over 1,040. The 2013 winners were:

1st Prize:  Lisa Ramsey who won  $500 in Chamber Bucks to be spent at area chamber businesses

2nd Prize: Sally Dier won the  Poinsettia Lottery Tree

3rd Prize:  Karla Veon  received a gift certificate to Sean’s Pub.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the event. Your continued support of our local businesses helps to make Garrettsville a great place to work, live, and visit.

There will be a board meeting in January to se the 2014 event calendar. The next chamber meeting will be held on February 5th at 7:30 am  at The Villager.
