Glenn Craver, 81, and Judi Craver, 81, both of Garrettsville, OH, went home to their Lord and Savior within 6 weeks of each other. Glenn, who was born to the late Wayne Elton and Emma Helen Craver on January 12, 1943, passed August 16, 2024. Judi was born on April 17, 1943, was adopted by the late C. Richard and Margaret E. Dowd, passed September 23, 2024.
They met in St. Louis, MO, where they were both attending different universities. It was often said that Glenn and Judi were meant to be together, as they grew up within 10 miles of one another, yet had to travel over 500 miles away from home to meet. Glenn received his engineering degree from Parks University and began his career where he worked as an aeronautical engineer for McDonnell Douglas, and later did the same for Allen Aircraft in Ravenna, OH. The couple moved from St. Louis to Indiana, where their first daughter, Lori, was born. The next move the family took was to Vermont, and that is where their second daughter, Deanna, was born. Glenn and Judi made the final move back to Garrettsville, OH, to be closer to their parents and other family members. As Glenn continued with his career, Judi was a homemaker. When their daughters were grown, Judi spent the next 26 years as a mail clerk and carrier at the Windham Post Office. When they both retired, Glenn enjoyed working on home improvements and tinkering with mechanics, while Judi liked to spend time working in her garden.
Glenn and Judi will be deeply missed by their daughters, Lori Craver and Deanna Craver; Glenn’s sister, Dorothy (Ed) Kurz; Judi’s brothers, Dick Dowd and Jim Dowd; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don Craver. Judi was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bill Dowd and Pat Dowd. Glenn and Judi also had a young son who passed before them named Mark.
Per Glenn and Judi’s wishes, they were cremated. Please join the family for a memorial visitation Saturday, October 12, 2024, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
