Garrettsville – Over a few hours, you will take a journey through the production and run of the play Nothing On (that is correct, not a typo). You will experience what really goes on behind the scenes during a production. Sometimes the drama behind the scenes is funnier than the drama on stage.
Act One takes place during a rehearsal of Nothing On. Act Two, takes place, behind the set during a matinee, and Act Three is once again during a performance in another town.
As the tension between the actors from “Nothing On” grows, the comedy in the play “Noises Off” increases.
Each actor from Curtains up Theatre not only plays their character in the play Nothing On, but they also play the part of the actor, playing the part, in “Nothing On”. Sounds confusing huh, you should have seen the actual rehearsals of this production – half the time the director did not know who she was talking to: Curtains up Theatre’s actors, the actors playing their character or the actors playing the actors – playing the characters. Talk about making your head spin.
The Garrettsville Curtains Up Theatre will present “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn on January 10, 11, 17 and 18th at 7pm and January 12, 2014 at 2pm in the James A. Garfield, Iva Walker Auditorium (located on State Route 88 in Garrettsville, Ohio). Tickets are available at the door prior to the performance for $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors over 65 and children under 12 and for groups of 15 or more there is a special price of $5.00 each.
