Overeaters Anonymous Meetings

Mondays

Overeaters Anonymous (a community of people who support each other in order to recover from compulsive eating and food behaviors) meets in person every Monday, except legal holidays, at 10:00AM in the parlor of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, 256 Mahoning Av NW, Warren, OH 44483. Please enter through the “Fellowship Hall” entrance on driveway. We look forward to meeting you! 

Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

BINGO! At St. Ambrose

First & Third Tuesday

Come to St. Ambrose for Bingo, the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Doors open at 5:45pm and Early Bird starts at 6:45. Players must be 18 or over. Reasonably priced concessions. St. Ambrose is located at 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville. Check out our Facebook page for additional information.

Al Anon Meetings

Tuesdays & Wednesdays

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Free Community Meal

Third Wednesday 

Christ Lutheran Church 10827 Main St, Mantua will be offering their  Free Community Meal on on the third Wednesday of the month  from 5-6:30 pm. Please come and enjoy a wonderful meal and a  chance to visit with friends. For more info call the church at 330 274 2849.

 Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. We hope to see you there for good food and conversation.

Mantua Historical Society

The Mantua Historical Society is inviting you to join us “at the table” to help us process donations of artifacts, share memories of Mantua Village & Township, and have some fun! Mantua Farmers Market

The Mantua Farmers Market Regular Season will be held on Saturdays from July 13 to September 21 9AM to 1 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 10827 North Main Street, Mantua. Young At Heart Meetings

3rd Tues of Month

Pickleball Beginner Clinics 

First Saturday of Month 

PICKLEBALL ENTHUSIASTS! The pickleball courts are open! And to assist you in pursuing your interest, the Garrettsville Pickleball Association is sponsoring a Beginners’ Clinic every first Saturday of the month,  from 10-12, weather permitting. The Great Gathering of the Letters

1st & 3rd Saturdays 

Come add your stories, memories, or hopes for the future to the new Time Capsule. The James A. Garfield Historical Society will be installing a time capsule on September 21, 2024, to be opened in 80 years – Garrettsville’s 300th birthday.  We have archival paper and pens to better preserve your letter for future generations of Garrettsville/Nelson/Freedom.  Submit letters by visiting the Mott Building, 8107 Main St, Garrettsville – 1st and 3rd Saturdays each month from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday night dinner, from 4-7pm, on Friday, July 12, 2024.  This month’s dinner features the “cook’s choice” with hot entrees, mouth-watering soups, fresh salads, and delicious desserts.  The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount nor mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant.  Donations are graciously accepted.  Dine in or carry out is available.  The dinner is held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township.  Hope to see you there!

Hiram School Reunion

 Our Annual Hiram School Reunion will be held Sunday, July 21 at the Troy Community Center, 13950 Main Market St. (Rt. 422) Burton, (Welshfield -Troy Twp) Ohio from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m.  Beverages, meat and table service will be provided. Classic Car Show

July 21

The Hungarian Cultural Center of Northeastern Ohio at 12027 Abbott Rd Hiram will be hosting a classic car show on July 21, 2024, Noon till 6pm.  Driver of the classic car gets in free. Prizes will be given out at 3pm. Peoples choice and judges pick. This years judges are Fred Martin and Stuart London. 

 We will have a live band and plenty of great food for sale. Our menu will be stuffed cabbage, kolbasz, guylas (goulash), cabbage and noodles, szalonna sutes (greasy bread) and langos (elephant ear bread). Pastry for dessert made by the women of the club. We will be selling coffee, pop, water and beer. The hours are noon until 6pm. Food will be sold until we run out. We ask that you do not bring pets or coolers to our event. Gate fee is $6.00. Freedom Community Picnic

The Freedom Township Historical Society will have an informational display at the Freedom Town Hall during the Freedom Community Picnic on July 21 which begins at noon.  This will be an excellent opportunity to meet our dedicated volunteers who help keep the society running and who work diligently to keep the Drakersburg School looking good.  We will have information about Freedom’s history, churches, schools, families, barns and so much more.  Drop in for a chat and tell us about your family’s history.  We’d love to see you and hear your story.

God Provides A Meal

Windham  United Methodist Church will be having their monthly free meal on Friday,  July 26, 2024.  The menu will be Sloppy Joes, macaroni salad and cake.  The church is located at 9051 N. Main Street, Windham, Oh 44288.  The meal can be picked up between 4 – 5 pm.  The meal is free and open to the public.  You must be registered ahead of time in order to receive the meal.  The only questions you will be asked,  are “ How many are in your household?  and  the names and birthdates of all people in your household.  No financial questions will be asked.   You may call Sandi Fordyce at 330-697-3288 to reserve a meal

Brittany Myers Poker Run

23rd Brittany Myers Poker Run will be held August 3rd, 2024. Registration is at the Time Out Sports Bar on St. Rt. 88 in Windham from 10 am until noon with first bike out at 11am and last bike out at noon. $15 per person includes ride, dinner and chance for a door prize.   T-shirts and tickets for a 50/50 drawing will also be available.  For questions call
