Reed Memorial Library and Ravenna Parks & Recreation have partnered to host Rodeo Night, a family-friendly, free event for the community. Rodeo Night is a western-themed, evening event to kick off the summer season. Held at Ravenna City Park, 165 Oakwood Street, from 5-8pm on June 7, Rodeo Night features square dancing, games, crafts, a hayride, petting zoo, food trucks and much more. “Having a community event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the end of the school year, let off some steam and kick off the library’s summer reading challenge,” says Amy Young, Reed Memorial Library Director. Children 17 and under will get free snow cones at Rodeo Night, while supplies last. Admission and all activities are free. Food may be purchased from food truck vendors.

All ages are eligible to participate in Reed Memorial Library’s summer reading challenge, a combination of reading and fun activities. All kids who sign up for the challenge will get an Ohio State Fair voucher and adults get a $10 off Ohio State Park voucher. Other prizes are available at different milestones and for those who complete the entire challenge.
