G-H Rotary continues planning for memorial trail

751

On February 19, 2024, Presidents’ Day marked the gathering of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary at Cal’s II in Sky Plaza, Garrettsville. Rutherford B. Hayes would have seamlessly blended into the occasion. Plans are underway to invite the district governor for lunch on February 26, with confirmation pending. Owen Bass, the outgoing exchange student for next year, is set for his journey to India—Bon Voyage! Dues are currently due.

Negotiations with contractors for the TCMRT (Tom Collins Memorial Rotary Trail) are ongoing, as efforts are made to update cost estimates. The question of signage and the possibility of a ribbon-cutting ceremony are also part of the ongoing discussions. The Scotch Doubles Bowling Event fundraiser is scheduled for March 2 at SkyLanes, and organizers are still looking for bowlers and raffle baskets. On the same day, the annual RoadApple Roubaix will commence from downtown Garrettsville, where Rotary will sponsor a bike wash (seeking assistance from InterAct members) and distribute informational/promotional flyers about the Garrettsville-Hiram community and its attractions. Everyone is welcome to join in the bowling fun. The town is buzzing with fundraisers of various types, offering opportunities for everyone to contribute to their favorite activities—a true celebration of community.

Happy Bucks were shared for a joyous birthday party, rising temperatures, a serendipitous dresser find, a Lenten project dinner, and delightful ice cream. It’s all good.
