Aspire Programs
Mondays & Wednesdays
The Portage County Maplewood Aspire Program will begin offering GED, Adult Diploma and ESOL classes at the Kent Free Library on Wednesday, January 3rd from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays during this time. Prospective students are required to first attend an orientation session prior to entering class at the Kent Free Library. Please call 330-235-0020 to schedule orientation. Orientation sessions are offered every 2 weeks throughout the year, during both the morning and evening. Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Night Dinner, from 4 -7pm, on Friday, February 9, 2024. This month’s dinner features casseroles, an array of salads, and scrumptious desserts. Background music will be supplied, featuring Skip Schweitzer on guitar and Cal Craig on banjo. The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount and cannot mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant. Donations are graciously accepted. Dine in or carryout is available. The dinner is held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township. Come join us!
Shalersville Historical Society Meeting

Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale will be held on the following dates: Friends ‘Members Only’ Preview on Wednesday, February 14, from 2 to 6 pm; Open to the public Thursday, February 15, from 10 am to 6 pm, and Friday, February 16, from 10 am to 4 pm. Every day is Bag Day! Bring your own bag and fill it for $5.00. Don’t want a whole bag of books? Make a donation of $.50-$1.00 per item. Membership in the Friends is just $5 per year and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the library. Cash donations are always welcome and appreciated. All proceeds directly support our library!

Game Night

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Harvest Point Church, located at 2121 Salt Springs Rd., Lordstown, Ohio, will host a Game Night. This is a family friendly, fun event for all ages featuring various board games, fellowship and snacks. This event is FREE and everyone is welcome. Children under the age of 17 years MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
St Patricks Day Reverse Raffle

The St. Ambrose’s St. Patrick’s Day Reverse Raffle Dinner is back to being held at Sugar Bush. The event on March 16, 2024 includes dinner, coffee, ice tea, cash bar, DJ, reverse raffle, 50/50, and a Chinese auction. Tickets are $100.00 for two meals and one number grand prize is $1000.00. There will be side boards available also. An additional $20.00 will get you a buy back of your number, (a second chance). Only 100 tickets will be sold. Every 20 draws will receive a prize.
