Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary’s Recap and Future Prospects

670

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary started off the new year by reviewing 2023 and moving on to future plans.

The Dictionary Project was successful, with approximately one hundred dictionaries presented to appreciative students in both James A. Garfield Local Schools and Windham Exempted Village Schools third grade classes. The annual Christmas party was, likewise, successful and the occasion for presentation of a Garfield jacket to exchange student Sarrah. The Santa Delivery Project had lots-o-elves and a great Santa…plenty of pix too. There was discussion of possible changes and past history. Dues are due. When to do a new member induction, when to fill out the slate of new officers, discussion of officer training, whether to obtain updated financial quotes for projects on the books, notification of a district-wide exchange student event held at the toboggan chute in Cleveland MetroParks…all got mention & thought. Host families for exchange students are being sought–a great experience for families. The bowling fund-raiser is coming up, as is the Road Apple Roubaix, on March 2; welcome to all participants. Happy Bucks came in for a finish to a Covid episode and “just because.” (They’re related.) It’s all good.
