Windham – Windham Village Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting April 23, 2013 at 7 pm with all council members present.  Council approved the minutes from February, special meetings, regular March minutes, expenditures and the bank reconciliation.

Mayor Rob Donham reported that they plan on resurfacing Wolfe, Wil-Verne, Spring, School, and Maple Grove Roads this summer.

Resolution R-2014-4 Authorizing an agreement with the Village of Garrettsville for dispatching services was on its third read and ready to be voted on, however after an executive session they decided to table the vote until next month.  There was a discussion held on whether they would have some dispatching done in Windham Monday through Friday during the day time. As it stands right now, council doesn’t want to do that; they want all dispatching done from one place.

Other actions taken by Council were approval of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to be the villages dental and vision provider and Medical Mutual as their health provider. The also voted make sick leave available only for employees that work  40 or more hours a week.  Council also voted to retain Tom Reitz as the village solicitor, effective June 1, 2013 thru May 31, 2014 and granted the WVFD permission to hold their annual carnival on the soccer fields near where the old Katherine Thomas Elementary building once stood. This years Firemen’s carnival will be held June 13th – 16th.

Lastly, Police Chief Gene Fixler said they Village of Windham will start enforcing local ordinances including, but not limited to unlicensed vehicles, parking in landscape areas of your yard, junk and debris in yards and more. Residents are advised to clean –up their yards and bring them into compliance with the local zoning codes and ordinances to avoid being cited.

Windham Village council meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in council chambers.
