Dann Timmons celebrated 60 years of living on November 17, 2012 and his family held a cake and punch reception in his honor last weekend at the Brick Chapel in Windham to commemorate this milestone. Over 60 friends, family and community leaders were on hand to help celebrate the event.
Folks greeted the man of the hour, shared some memories, and checked out the pictures of Dann in his younger years. They enjoyed a wonderful cake, some cookies and punch while talking about their memories of Dann and creating new ones.
Mr. Timmons grew up in Auburn Township and is a 1971 graduate of Kenston High School. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1974 and received his law degree in 1987 from Akron Law School. He married his wife, Cathy, June 8, 1974 and they became the proud parents of four children, Casey Timmons-Kolaczek, Jason, Adam, and Bailey Timmons. They also have six grandchildren, with number seven on the way.
Currently, Dann has his own law firm in Garrettsville, is a Windham Township Trustee and serves on the WVFD Joint Fire District Board. In his spare time one will find him working on the family farm that is now run by his son Adam or attending a Bomber athletic event with his grandson.
Friends all described Dann as a family man with a sense of humor, a farmer who is fair, considerate, and compassionate. He is also known for his love of helping others in their time of need and has been called a class act and even a legend. He is a man respected by the community, but more importantly, by his family. I saw this on his daughter’s Facebook page last month right before his birthday and I am using it with her permission as she offered up a great tribute to her dad. This is what his daughter Casey had to say about her dad, “I want to stand on the roof tops and scream-MY DAD TURNS 60 on Saturday! If you know this awesome, caring, individual, you know what I’m saying! I’m so very proud that he’s my dad, my boss and best friend! Who would have thought that he’d make it to 60? I did!! Two – three days a week at the gym on top of everything else he does-attorney, farm, township, fire department, church, his health and his family! He’s an amazing role model! When I think I can’t go another step, I think of him and his strength and I keep going! Everyday, I run miles for me, for him, because I can! I love you Dad!! You are my hero!” said Casey Timmons-Kolaczek. This awesome tribute leaves one speechless… except for maybe this, Happy Birthday Dann!
