Garrettsville-Hiram Rotarians are geared up for their annual Reverse Raffle and Silent Auction fund-raiser, to be held at SugarBush Golf Course.  Ticket sales are on-going and can be purchased from any member; stop in at the Business Works or McCumbers-Brady Realty for more information or tickets.  It promises to be another bang-up success, with many local-source items up for bid and available to the shrewd and the lucky and fun-lovers of all ages.  The catered dinner –steak or chicken–will undoubtedly promote conviviality among the varied attendees from across the community.

On top of preparations for the event, the group welcomed a visitor, Lisa Hesse, a personal banker, of Huntington Bank’s Garrettsville office, with a background in  real estate, insurance and banking.  Her interest in community involvement and personalized service is congruent with the aims and activities of Rotary.

Procedural updates were also on the table as Amy Crawford of Business Works was selected to assist in carrying out the duties of the Secretary-Treasurer, adding her to the names of individuals having signatory responsibilities for expenditures and deposits of monies in club accounts.  President Kim Kohli’s office will take care of producing and filing official documents.

The club voted to donate $100 towards the Rotary International float in the 2013 Rose Bowl Parade.  They also received an informational flyer from the Nelson-Garrettsville  Community Cupboard.  Another induction ceremony   to be held in December is on the horizon.  New members are always welcome; interested parties should join them on Monday evenings at 5:30 in the dining hall at Hiram College.
