Garrettsville – Summerfest Committee Members will be heading to Columbus this fall to participate in the Ohio Festivals and Events Association’s 2012 convention. This event brings together many of the state’s thousands of member festivals for demonstrations, workshops and training.

Pictured above (left to right) are festival co-chairs Aaron King and Rick Patrick, Car or Cash winner Ken Pike with his wife Damaris Peters-Pike. Ken selected the cash prize and donated a portion of his winnings back to Summerfest for the 2013 fesitval.

This year the committee will be proud to announce that that after our most successful Summerfest ever (over 20,000 attendees), the Garrettsville Summerfest Committee made a $1,000 donation to The Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors of the United States Armed Forces. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) works to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
In addition, the Summerfest/Friends of Melana 5k run raised over $5,000 this year, an outstanding accomplishment for an event that is only in its second year.
Planning is currently underway for Garrettsville Summerfest 2013, which is expected to meet or exceed the records set in 2012.
