G-W Soccer Club needs new trustees this year to continue the wonderful tradition we have seen over the past 10 yrs. and to get the season off to a great start. Volunteers Needed
The Camelot Center is currently seeking volunteers to assist with their therapeutic horseback riding program. Minimum age is 14 years old. Volunteers are needed to assist riders to groom their horses before lessons, lead horses, sidewalk riders who may need physical or emotional support, help with general maintenance and fundraisers. Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with classes in the mornings, afternoon and early evening. No horse experience is needed as we will teach you what you need to know. Paddle on the serene upper Cuyahoga River near Burton. The slow moving state scenic river winds through extensive wetlands and bottomland forests near Russell Park in Geauga County. The tour begins and ends at Russell Park on Rapids Road 2 miles north of U.S. Rte. 422 in Troy Township. The Garrettsville Curtains up Theatre will present Oklahoma on July 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7pm and July 15 at 2pm in the James A. Garfield High School, Iva Walker Auditorium. Directed By: Missy Bookbinder and Jackie Rinearson, Musical Direction by: William Davies and Choreographed by Shanelle Waggoner. British Soccer Camp

Ravenna Recreation is registering for a Challenger – British Soccer Camp staffed by a team of British experts. Registration is limited, so register early. All campers will receive a free British soccer ball, t-shirt, a personal skills evaluation and a giant soccer poster. In addition, anyone enrolled by June 1 at midnight will also be entitled to claim a FREE replica soccer jersey (valued at $39) that coaches themselves will wear during the week of camp. Cost: $170, to be held July 16-20 – six hour days from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and return each day from 5 to 8 p.m. Team camps also available upon request. Deadline to register is July 8. Summer Theater Clinic
July 23 thru Aug 9
Ravenna Recreation Department is offering a Summer Theater Clinic for boys and girls under the direction of Ric Hughes, Director of the Ravenna All-City Musical. The Clinic will be held July 23 through August 9, 2012 at West Park School. Registration is now through July 13th. After July 13th there is a $5.00 late fee if any openings. Cost is $15 for city taxpayers or $20 for non-city taxpayers. Fee includes breakfast each morning. Children entering 4th through 7th grade in the fall 2012 8:00am – 9:15am. Children entering K through 3rd grade in the fall 2012 8:45am – 10:00am.
Participants will work on scenes, monologues, improvisations, character analysis, and theater games. This summer’s course will focus on the Emmy Award-Winning Saturday morning educational cartoon series “Schoolhouse Rock”. Whether you are the beginner or advanced student there is something for everyone in this clinic. Free public performance will be held on August 9 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The 11th Annual Brittany Myer’s Memorial Poker Run will take place on Saturday, August 4th Registration starts at 10AM at the Windham American Legion Hall. 2 or 4 wheels are welcome.
