Board of Elections Needs Precinct Election Officials for August 8th Election

607

Ravenna – The Portage County Board of Elections needs registered voters to work as precinct election officials for the August 8, 2023 Special Election.  Without precinct election officials we simply cannot hold elections.  Precinct election officials make sure our elections are fair, honest, and conducted according to Ohio law.

Precinct election officials open and close the polling place on Election Day, and guide voters through the election process.  Those interested must be a registered voter in the county, be able to attend a scheduled training class, and have access to reliable transportation.

Precinct election officials are required to arrive at their assigned polling location at 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8th and serve until their duties are completed after the close of polls at 7:30 p.m.  All precinct election officials will receive $20 for attending a training class.  On Election Day, precinct election officials will earn $130.

Be a part of the democratic process and sign up today to be a precinct election official.  An application may be completed online at: www.lookup.boe.ohio.gov/vtrapp/portage/pwapp.aspx or request an application be mailed to you by calling our office at (330) 297-3511.
