Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Mantua – That’s right – the Jolly Old Elf himself will be in Mantua this Saturday, December 3rd, greeting children of all ages and ringing in the holiday season. Stop and see him at the Village Green on Main Street from noon until 2 pm. The Crestwood High School choir will be there, too, fa-la-la-ing to get you into the holiday spirit. If you’re not quite in the holiday spirit yet, make sure to stop by the Green to see the enormous Christmas tree that’s been erected for the holidays. It’s so large, it had to be lifted in place using machinery. On Saturday, the large and lovely conifer’s boughs will be decked in enough holiday finery to expand even the grinchiest of hearts.

While you’re in the Village, why not visit some of your favorite small businesses to start your holiday shopping? Bibury & Company has a variety of locally made items perfect for gifting, while J & J Sales can help you fill your stockings with care. Check out Crooked River for holiday arrangements, hostess gifts, and other interesting items. For the caffeine or bubble tea lover on your list, make sure to stop by R44 Coffee Company. Order your favorite holiday foods at R44 Butcher & Baker, too.

Then, on Thursday evening, December 8th, you’re invited to attend Mantua’s first nighttime shopping event from 5 to 8 pm. If you enjoyed the Makers’ and Farmers’ market throughout the summer and fall, you’ll want to be sure and stop by this indoor, holiday-inspired event. Held indoors at the Mantua Granary building on East Prospect, the evening event gives you another opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with extended shopping hours, Christmas carols, wine tasting, raffles, holiday lights and more. The event is presented by SEE Mantua and the DMRC.
