Becky Newell, age 75, passed away in Gainesville, FL on Monday, February 21, 2022 with family at her side.
Born in Bedford, Ohio to Edward and Marian Linert in 1947, Becky spent summers at Round-up Lake Park where she met William “Bill” Newell, the love of her life. Bill and Becky were married in 1964 and moved to Mantua in 1968 to raise their family.
The couple sold their home in 2011 and moved to Welaka Lodge & Resort in Florida where Becky was working full-time until she fell ill on November 10, 2021. Becky was active in the community in both Mantua and Welaka.
She is survived by Bill who will reside in Williston, FL; son Matthew (Tammy) and grandchildren Justin and Chelsea of Burgaw, NC; daughter Michelle (Kevin) of Mantua, OH; sister Barbara Shalashnow of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
