Art on the Hill Returns to Mantua

Mantua – Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation (DMRC) is excited to announce the return of their popular, award-winning, arts and crafts show, Art on the Hill, on Saturday, July 10th from 10 am until 6 pm on East Prospect Street in Mantua Village.
“We’re really looking forward to the excitement and energy of having events in town again,” DMRC President Edie Benner shared. “And, of course, the chance for the artisans to display their work and the wineries to show off their wonderful wines!” Benner noted that Terri Vechery, Christine Pitsinger, and the entire committee are working to ensure the event is safe, following current CDC guidelines. Vechery explained that extra distance had been planned between vendors in an effort to make our visitors safe this year. She added, “In spite of all the lockdowns during COVID-19, our little village has become revitalized! Those attending the festival will be amazed at our businesses!”

Using their successful formula, the arts and crafts event will include artisans, merchants, and food. Of course, wineries will be a feature, too. The Art on the Hill and Wine Tasting Headquarters will be located in a tent on First Street where wine ticket sales and the Art Auction tickets will be available for purchase.

Entertainment is being planned for the veranda of the Granary building with performances scheduled throughout the day. In addition, this year a children’s tent has been added, bringing something for everyone to Art on the Hill. The Art Auction again will give attendees the opportunity to bid on items with purchased tickets.

And if you’ve taken great pictures with your camera or phone, why not enter them into the photo contest? While the contest is open to photos of every genre, photos of Mantua may be chosen to be part of the DMRC’s 2022 Calendar. The Photography Contest will be located in Five Five Media Studio in the Granary Building.

Vechery noted that vendor applications continue to arrive daily, leading the DMRC to anticipate “a great festival with plenty of food, great wine and entertainment – as well as impressive art!” She noted that in addition to wonderful art, delicious food, great wine, and entertainment, the event will once again host a photo contest open to all, an Arts and Crafts auction, a 50/50 raffle and plenty of entertainment. The event is the DMRC’s biggest fundraiser, made possible by generous sponsors and volunteers.
Vechery marveled, “this year feels like an exciting year for Art on the Hill!” Both Benner and Vechery encourage locals and those nearby to spend July 10th in Mantua to join in the excitement.
