Mantua Quick Mart is Open For Business

2825

Mantua – Peter Patel, shop owner, is no stranger to convenient stores. He owns and operates another Quick Mart in Ravenna. When the opportunity arose to purchase the former Circle K store in Mantua, Patel was happy to transform the chain store to an independent business.

The former location had also been home to a Subway, leaving a void for grab-and-go meals in the village.  Soon, that spot will be transformed into a made-to-order deli counter offering both hot and cold sub options. They offer slushies, fountain drinks, and coffee beverages in addition to the milk, bread, lottery tickets and beer you’d expect at a convenience store. Patel will also offer pizza — by the pie or by the slice as well as soft-serve ice cream beginning in the spring.

Having only been open a week, Patel noted, “people are glad to see we’re open,” he shared. It’s quick and easy to get in and out for that last minute item. Patel is pleased to be gaining support and serving his neighbors. Although the pandemic has created challenges for many, it has also led to a resurgence of small, mom and pop enterprises. “As an independently owned business,” Patel explained, “we’re happy to be a part of the local community.” He noted his desire to support local schools and sports teams, and given the store’s proximity to the local high school, something that would make him a good neighbor indeed.

The Mantua Quick Mart is located at 10792 Main Street, and is currently open from 6 am until 9 pm seven days a week. They have plans to add hours as the weather warms.
