The number of families and individuals who live in hunger in the United States is on the rise and sadly Portage County is not exempt from this statistic.
The Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard has been fortunate to have the support of our community which allows us to help our neighbors in need make ends meet.
As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on the NGCC anticipates a rise in the number of local families we will be serving through the winter. Last Wednesday NGCC was able to provide a Thanksgiving meal to 58 families (144 people) within our service area who otherwise would not have had one. This makes up only a portion of the hundreds of families we support throughout the year.
Thank you to everyone who has made donations to the food cupboard ~ your generous support of food, toiletries, time and money help us to “Shut the door on hunger”.
