Vision And Values Drive JAG Students And Staff

2695

James A. Garfield Graduates are going places! They attend college, join the workforce or enlist to serve our country. Garfield Schools have a clear vision of what we want to achieve for our kids:

BEGINNING WITH THE CLASS OF 2022, 90% OF GARFIELD GRADUATES WILL PARTICIPATE IN HIGHER EDUCATION OR CAREER TRAINING, AND BY 2026, 70% OF OUR GRADUATES WILL COMPLETE THEIR EDUCATION OR TRAINING.

Garfield has always taken great pride in how involved teachers and staff were in their education. They care deeply and will go to great lengths to ensure all students succeed. We have set this goal, for 2022, to have 90% of our graduates leave us with a plan for college or career training…..this vision is all about helping students find their passion.

Further, we want to make sure that we prepare our students well enough to persevere and complete the pursuit of their passion within four years after graduating.

Achieving this vision will test the very best of what our students and staff have to offer. We will achieve great things by demonstrating our Core Values.

Each of the JAG Core Values was defined by our staff and we work to bring these values to life each day.

These are our Core Values. They are the essence of how we see ourselves. They become ‘activated’ in situations within our schools and community on a daily basis as we work and interact with people and lead students. The nine Core Values of the James A. Garfield Schools are the core of what make our district the best place to live, work and learn.

So, if a vision is a picture of where we are going, the core values are the roadmap of how we get there. Being a model of the values and teaching our kids to live these nine values will undoubtedly prepare them for success as develop their passion.

If you would like to receive a Core Value card as a member of the community, please contact Superintendent Ted Lysiak and one will be delivered to you personally. You can request a card by calling the board office at 330.527.4336 or contacting Mr. Lysiak directly (cell: 216.534.7413, email: tlysiak@jagschools.org).
