And The Marching Pride Winner Is…

1196

Garrettsville – The most recent fundraising event from JAG Marching Pride was a huge success. Band Boosters recently raised $700.00, toward the construction of a new concession stand, by raffling off the band. Supporters purchased tickets for a chance to win a private performance by the marching band.

Caroline Lawrence, of Lyndhurst, was the winner of the contest. She generously donated the prize to one of the bands biggest, yet smallest, fans. Addy Paes loves to watch the Marching Pride. During Friday night football games, you can spot her on the sidelines dancing with the best band in the land. Last Saturday, one of Addy’s dreams was realized when the band performed for her right in her own front yard.

Residents of Village Drive poured out of their homes to follow the band while they marched through the streets playing “Hang on Sloopy”, the Alma Mater, and Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like”.

If you missed the live performance, you can catch it on Facebook by searching James A. Garfield Bands. This feel good event was small town living at its best!
