Huntsburg – We would like to invite you to attend our country festival. We are located in Huntsburg, Ohio in Geauga County at the intersections of State Routes 322 & 528. We are celebrating our 47th year.

There is no entrance fee and all of our contests, entertainment and attractions are free.  We offer free parking and a free shuttle service from the parking areas to the Festival grounds, 10:00 am till 6:30 pm. We offer this festival free because of the generous donations of our sponsors.

We have many vendors and crafters filling our two buildings along with a midway of fabulous food.  Join in one of our free contests such as Apple Peeling, Pumpkin Pie Eating, Bubble Gum Blowing, Rock Toss, Egg Toss, Nail pounding, decorated and carved pumpkins trophies and ribbons awarded to the winners.

This year our attractions include Jungle Terry, Antique Tractors & Engines, Classic Car Show, Fort Huntsburg Country Band, Cardinal School Show Choir the Cardinaires, The Cardinal Marching Band, Bagpipe performance by Geauga Highlanders, The Usual Suspects Band, country singer Raelynn Debevits, K-9 demos by Geauga County Sheriff’s Dept., The University Hospital Pet Pals and the Walnut Hill Cloggers. Our Super parade is Sunday at 2:15.

Huntsburg Pumpkin Run

Celebrating another year, the Huntsburg Pumpkin Run traverses a scenic part of the Buckeye Trail. The Pumpkin Run is held Sunday  October 2, 2016 starts at 9:00 am. Registration begins at 8:00 at Grandview Golf Club parking lot. Entry fee is $15.00, free T-shirt to the first 50 to enter. Headwaters Park is a 96-acre reservation located in Claridon and Huntsburg Townships. The trail is within Geauga Park District, and winds alongside the water, over a stream, through fields and woods offering a peaceful and scenic run.   Sponsored by Dr. Bob Evans, Lucas Pest Management Co, Marge’s Smoke Shop Ltd., KT’s Custom Logos, Kokosing Construction Co., Huntington Bank, Frank Martuccio Asphalt & Paving, Silvercreek Veterinary Clinic, Inc., Schneider Saddlery, Fitness Plus and Sages Apples.

Pancake Breakfast

The Pancake Breakfast is open each day from 8:30 am until 11:30 am.  It features all-you-can-eat pancakes and Belgium waffles with sausage, orange juice, real maple syrup and a variety of hot beverages.  We serve the Fowler Milling Company’s buttermilk and pumpkin pancake mix, Bob Evans Original Sausage Links with Natural Maple Syrup from Huntsburg Maple Syrup Producers and what a treat they are!  Adults $6.00, Seniors $5.00 Child Ages 5 –12 $3.00 Children under 5 are Free.

Pumpkin Show

Carved and Decorated Pumpkin Show entries should be brought to the Huntsburg Center Pavilion on Saturday October 1 between 9:30 and 10:30 am. All entries must remain until 5:30 pm on Sunday.  The categories are as follows:

Adult Carved Pumpkin (ages 13 & up)

Adult Decorated Pumpkin (ages 13 & up)

Youth Carved Pumpkin (ages 12 and under)

Youth Decorated Pumpkin (ages 12 & under)

Scarecrows: Standing, sitting, straw, wood or newspaper – anything goes

(Head need not be pumpkin)

Totem Poles: Five or more pumpkins, squash or gourds

Baking Contest

Registration for the Baking Contest on  Saturday, Oct 1 by 8:00 am at the Town Hall.  Judging is at 10:00 am.  All entries must contain pumpkin as one of the ingredients. For bakers under the age of 13 entries can be anything pumpkin and Pumpkin Pie.  Bakers 13 & over may enter Traditional Pumpkin Pies, Cakes, Breads, and other items.  Non-traditional pumpkin pies will be entered in the other category. Tot King & Queen Contest

Tot King & Queen Contest, ages 4 – 6, register at the tent in front of the Town Hall Saturday, Oct 1 at 10:00 am.  Call Jeannette at 440-636-5354.

 Giant Pumpkin Show

Giant Pumpkin Show  registration and weigh in on Thursday, September 29 between 6 and 8 pm at the Huntsburg Center Pavilion.  Call Jerry at 440-636-5145 for additiona information. Categories are as follows:

Largest Pumpkin – CASH AWARD – judged on natural weight

Natural Field Pumpkin – judged on largest size

Largest Zucchini – judged on natural weight

Largest Potato – judged on natural weight

Largest Sunflower – judged on width of head

Classic Car Show 

Classic Car Show– rain or shine! Bring your favorite Classic Auto no admission fee.  Show will be held on October 1 & 2 — 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. behind Huntsburg Elementary School.  People’s choice trophy awarded each day.  A Participation Plaque for the first twenty cars that arrive each day.

 Pumpkin Queen Contest

High School Girls in the 10th, 11th & 12th Grades from area school (Berkshire, Cardinal, Chardon, Grand Valley, Newbury and Notre Dame) are invited to compete to be the Pumpkin Queen. Please call Diane Hunt at 440-636-5514 by Sept. 15, 2016 A Cash Prize will be awarded to the elected Queen.

Junior Queen Contest is open to girls in 6th, 7th & 8th Grades attending Berkshire, Cardinal, Chardon, Newbury, Grand Valley and  St Helens. A Cash Prize will be awarded to the elected Queen. To register please call Jessica Jackson 440-636-3172 by September 18, 2016.
