Ravenna – University Hospitals has completed all actions necessary for the full integration of Robinson Health System into the UH health system effective June 1.

“Together we have new and exciting opportunities to serve the residents of Portage County and surrounding communities,” said Thomas F. Zenty III, CEO of University Hospitals.  “We look forward to growing and enhancing Robinson’s services and programs to continue their long-standing tradition of providing patient-focused, superior-quality health care close to home.”

During the integration, UH will work closely with Robinson’s board of directors, physicians, leadership, employees and volunteers to bring investments and cost efficiencies that will benefit the communities served, including upgrades to facilities, equipment, services and technologies. UH will provide leading-edge technology, innovative practices, strong clinical research and other new initiatives that will complement and grow Robinson’s highly regarded clinical programs. Additional commitments will enhance services at Robinson from UH’s internationally recognized centers of excellence such as UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Seidman Cancer Center.

“Integrating into the University Hospitals system will further strengthen Robinson and help us sustain our mission to provide high-quality patient-centered health care to our patients and the communities that we serve,” said Stephen Colecchi, President and CEO of Robinson. “UH also has an outstanding record of employee and medical staff engagement. We are confident that becoming part of UH will be a dynamic and important change for Robinson and is in the best interests of our patients, the Portage County community, our employees and medical staff. UH is consistently recognized as one of the leading health systems in the country and we are very proud and excited to become part of the UH system.”
