COLUMBUS- State Representative Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) hosted Reverend Kris Patt as the Guest Minister for Ohio House of Representatives session on Thursday, November 15th. Reverend Kris, pastor of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church, offered the opening invocation.
“I was honored to have Reverend Kris give the opening prayer at House session,” Rep. Clyde said. “It’s always a pleasure to have community members visit the Statehouse, and it’s even more special when they can take part in the legislative process.”
It is a long-standing tradition in the Ohio House of Representatives to bring in church leaders from members’ home districts for the opening invocation. Religious leaders from a wide-range of denominations are asked to give brief prayers to initiate every House session. Reverend Kris stayed for the House session with guest Pat Singelyn and took a tour of the Statehouse following the House session.
