Windham – The Fourth Annual Parade of Lights and Polar Express, Christmas Celebration was held in Windham this past weekend. Although the weather was quite chilly, it didn’t keep folks from coming out to celebrate the season.
The parade stepped off at 6:00pm from the Dollar General Store and went south, down Main Street to Center Street ending at the Windham Community Center.
Once at the community center, one could go inside and enjoy hotdogs, and hot chocolate provided by the Windham Lions Club. There were also cookies available for consumption. The kids were kept busy making ornaments while they waited their turn to visit with Mrs. Claus and told Santa all their Christmas wishes.
Tom Yuhaas provided the entertainment by playing his guitar and singing songs of the season. He had several impromptu back up singers as folks and children would jump right in to sing along with him.
The Polar Express Train was running from 6:30 until 9:30pm giving children and adults a festive ride on a chilly night. Folks brought a non perishable food item for admittance to the event to be used at the high school’s new food pantry. It was a family-friendly and fun evening for everyone.
