William B. Owen, 92, beloved Husband and Father, was called to his eternal resting place on September 3, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He entered this world on March 27, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio, born to Roger N and Doris M. Owen. Bill married the love of his life, Matilda “Tillie” Montigney, on June 7, 1947.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Singelyn of Chagrin Falls and Deborah Owen of Albuquerque, NM: grandchildren, Ben Singelyn, Andrew Singelyn, Carolyn Kennedy and Alice Fitch and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Tillie and daughter Rebecca Owen Boone.
William served in the Navy from 1944 – 1946. A US Postal Rural Letter Carrier for 30 years, an associate of Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home and delivery driver for The Bay Window for more than 30 years. A 60-year member of the Garrettsville Masonic Lodge #246, Crescent Chapter #7 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church and a proud member of the American Legion for 72 years, most recent member of the Windham American Legion.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 7, 2018 following the Masonic Service at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Services with full military honors was held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Kris Patt. officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Hiram, Ohio.
