Pancake Breakfast

Sundays

The Newbury Area Kiwanis Club will serve regular, blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Sunday morning in Feb at Newbury High School cafeteria. Breakfast includes coffee, orange or apple juice, milk, sausage and locally-produced maple syrup. Cost is $7 for age 13 and up, $4 for ages 3-12 and $23 for a family of up to five members. Proceeds benefit scholarship funds and other community needs. Donations will be accepted for local food bank.

 

Moms in Prayer

Weekly

Moms in Prayer, a local group of Crestwood moms, invite you to join us as we intercede for students, teachers and administration through prayer. Vendors are still being accepted.  The cost for this year’s market has remained the same, $60.00 for the entire season. The Farmer’s Markets will run from July 24 through October 2 every Wednesday from 3:00 – 6:30pm in the Skylane Bowling Alley parking lot. Free Water Well Monitoring

Hiram Christian Church; 6868 Wakefield Road, Hiram, OH 44234. Fourth Monday of every month @ 7 p.m. Free “neighbors helping neighbors” monthly water monitoring program using Sierra Club meters to test for “indicators” of water quality. For accurate readings a water sample should be taken as directly from the well as possible (from the well head or pump if at all possible), before any water treatment. For a sample “fresh from the well,” drain the water sitting in your pipes by running any household cold water for about 10 minutes before you collect your sample from a faucet on your pump. Windham Athletic Boosters Casino  Bus Trip

BioBuddies: Eggs Alive!

BioBuddies is a discovery-based program for preschool age children (3-5 years old) to experience the wonders of the natural world around them. The theme this spring is Eggs Alive! Children will explore chickens, eggs and observe the life inside as they incubate eggs and hatch chicks. All sessions meet from 1:00-2:30pm at Hiram College. St. Mary and St. Joseph’s Ladies Guild of Newton Falls will be baking homemade Kolache for the Easter holiday and you may purchase this taste of Eastern Europe at the low cost of $10.00 each. The Ladies offer the following fillings: Apricot, Nut and Poppy Seed. To order your taste of Europe, contact Barbara Wolff at 330-872-1951. Pick up times and days will be Mar 19 from 9 a.m.– 4 p.m. and Mar 20 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Brighten your Easter holiday with the flavors and traditions of this tasty pastry native to Czechoslovakia and Poland. Claridon Girl Scout troop 1324 is looking for crafters and vendors for its 3rd Annual Spring Ahead Bazaar to be held on April 13 from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the Claridon Town Hall at the corner of Rt. 322 and Claridon-Troy Rd.. Autism 5k and walk

Akron’s Autism 5k and Walk, formerly Akron Walks for Autism, is the Autism Society of Greater Akron’s premier fundraising and autism awareness event.  Money raised stays local to support individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who support them.  The event will be held on June 15 at Lock 3 in downtown Akron.  The Autism Society of Greater Akron provides vital programs and services to families living with autism in Summit, Stark, Wayne, Portage and Medina counties and is part of the Autism Society of Ohio.
