On January 29, 2013 The Mobile Dentists will come to the Elementary with all the necessities to do x-rays, exams and routine cleaning. Parents, take advantage of this awesome program. There will be no need for you to take off work or take your child out of school for their dental appointment. You will also receive a written report on the health of your child’s teeth from the dentist. Permission forms have been sent home with the students, please send back the form if you want your child to participate in this wonderful program. Saturday, December 15: Stephens Memorial Observatory of Hiram College will host a public observing night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Visitors will observe the solar system’s biggest planet – Jupiter – with its four Galilean Moons! We will also be looking at the Great Nebula of Orion, red giant star Betelgeuse, and perhaps a star cluster or two. The Observatory is located on Wakefield Road (Rt. 82) less than a quarter of a mile west of Route 700 in Hiram. Longest Night Service

Windham UMC will be hosting a “Longest Night Service” for those who mourn. Holidays are wonderful and full of joy, but they can be hard when we are missing someone. Whether you’ve lost someone recently or 20 years ago the pain can be more acute during the holidays. On Dec. 21 at 7:30pm we will gather for a quiet worship service of music and hope with people who understand.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town

The Rotary Club of Garrettsville-Hiram has made special arrangements with Santa Claus to personally deliver packages in Garrettsville and Hiram on Sunday, December 23rd. Since so many children have been good this year, Santa feels he will be exceptionally busy on Christmas Eve and has agreed to come a day early! If you have a package that you would like Santa to deliver, please drop it off at The Business Works, 8110 Main Street, Garrettsville or at MB Reality, 8118 Main Street, Garrettsville by Friday, December 21st.
