Ravenna Balloon A-Fair Lighted Christmas Parade

Ravenna Balloon A-Fair’s annual lighted Christmas Parade “Candy Canes & Carols” will take place in downtown Ravenna on Main Street at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1. The parade includes themed floats, dancing and marching groups. Leading off the parade will be the Ravenna High School Band under the direction of Drew Adametz. Santa Claus straight from the North Pole will arrive in his magical horse-drawn carriage. Local youngsters will have a chance to share their Christmas wishes with Santa following the parade at the Buckeye Mini Mall, located at 250 E. It will be held at the Shalersville Historical Museum at 9154 St. Rt. 44 (St. Rt. 303 and 44 at the Center of Shalersville) we ask all members their families and friends of the Society to bring a dish to pass, table service and beverage will be furnished. People Tree Adopt a Family

People Tree is getting ready for the 2012 Christmas Season. We will be doing the adopt a family again and each family will receive a food basket. Longest Night Service

Windham UMC will be hosting a “Longest Night Service” for those who mourn. Holidays are wonderful and full of joy, but they can be hard when we are missing someone. Whether you’ve lost someone recently or 20 years ago the pain can be more acute during the holidays. On Dec. 21 at 7:30pm we will gather together a quiet worship service of music and hope with people who understand.
