People Tree Donations
This year the People Tree is in need more than ever before. The suppliers of our toys in the past years are now unable to provide us with toys. Toys are needed for walk-in families. Other needed items are as follows: food, coats, hats, gloves, boots, misc. household items and personal care products. Items can be dropped off at the Library, Bay Window, Huntington Bank, Middlefield Bank, Rite Aid and the Garden Bistro. 2011 Chamber Calendars
The Garrettsville Area Chamber Photo Contest Calendars are on sale now. The 2011 calendars make a great holiday gift ~ $6 each or 2/$10. Calendars are available at Middlefield Bank, James A Garfield Historical Society, and Village Bookstore. Calendars can also be picked up at the craft show at Village Hall during the Christmas Walk.
i-Pad Raffle
The James A. Garfield All Sports Boosters are selling tickets for a chance to win an i-Pad. Tickets are $5/each or 5 for $20. The drawing will be held on Dec 18th during the varsity girls’ basketball home game. Tickets can be obtained through any booster member or during any home basketball game. This would make a great Christmas gift!
Fix It in the Farmland
The Geauga Humane Society’s program, Fix it in the Farmland, low cost spay and neuter surgeries, will not hold any Dec clinics. Clinics will begin again in January. The cost is $10 per pet and owners are required to pre-qualify.

Child Advocates Needed
CASA (Child Appointed Special Advocates) for KIDS of Geauga County is recruiting volunteers to advocate for the “best interest” of abused and neglected children involved in the juvenile court. No particular background is required. You must be at least 25 years of age and have no criminal record. Couples may work together. 32 hours of pre-service training is provided. The Geauga County Health District will offer seasonal influenza vaccinations on Friday mornings from 8:30-11am at 470 Center Street, Bldg. 8 in Chardon. “It’s a Wonderful Life” the holiday classic of our time based on the film by Frank Capra and adapted by James W. Rodgers, will be performed live at the Geauga Theater this Dec. This version is not a musical, however there will still be music included at the production. A talented Children Chorus will perform. The cost is $15/adults, $13/students and seniors and $5/children 10 and under. A canned food donation will receive $2 off the ticket price (excluding the special children’s price of $5).
