The 2011 Hiram College Senior Combine is for athletes who are entering the 12th grade as of the fall of 2011. Our Senior Combine is a two-day camp held on June 24 & 25 and is designed to inform you on Hiram’s academic programs, campus living, and football program The camp will include individual skill and technique drills along with a combine (40 yard dash, bench press, broad jump, pro-shuttle). The Eagle Creek Conservation Club is pleased to announce that they will be holding their annual youth fishing derby on Sunday, June 5, 2011. The event will take place at the Newton Falls Community Center pond located at 52 East Quarry Street in Newton Falls. The derby is a free event open to all children ages 15 and under. Registration begins at 11am and the contest will run from noon until 2pm. The event has been a local tradition for years. The fishing derby is held to help foster children’s appreciation of the outdoors and interest in fishing. Observatory Park: From The Ground To The Galaxies

The Portage County Amateur Radio Service (PCARS) will be holding its sixth annual Field Day event at the Ravenna City Park on Oakwood Street in Ravenna from 2 p.m. Sat, June 25th until 2 p.m. on Sun, June 26th. Field Day is sponsored nationally by the American Radio Relay League as a field operation for ham radio operators who provide emergency communications as well as a public demonstration of amateur radio activities.
