The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. A wide selection of items can be sold – bakery, produce, crafts, plants, syrup, eggs, honey, garage sale items, etc. Vendors are needed. Fee is $1 per date. Community Resource Fair

Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority (PMHA) will be hosting the fair on May 31st from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Ravenna Elks Lodge. We’re excited to welcome over 15 local agencies who will be providing resources and information to residents throughout Portage County. The event will also feature: Raffles & Giveaways, Face Painting, Snacks & Light Refreshments, and several food trucks. It will be a fun, informative day for community members of all ages

Free Beginner Quilt Classes

Do you admire all those beautiful quilts you see? Would you like to learn to quilt yourself? The Village Piecemaker’s quilt club of Garrettsville is offering free beginner quilt classes to those who would like to learn the basics of quilting. Each class will offer a different area in the quilting process. This will be a four-week class.
