People Tree Donations
This year the People Tree is in need more than ever before. The suppliers of our toys in the past years are now unable to provide us with toys. Toys are needed for walk-in families. Other needed items are as follows: food, coats, hats, gloves, boots, misc. household items and personal care products. Items can be dropped off at the Library, Bay Window, Huntington Bank, Middlefield Bank, Rite Aid and the Garden Bistro. 2011 Chamber Calendars
The Garrettsville Area Chamber Photo Contest Calendars are on sale now. The 2011 calendars make a great holiday gift ~ $6 each or 2/$10. Calendars are available at Middlefield Bank, James A Garfield Historical Society, and Village Bookstore. Calendars can also be picked up at the craft show at Village Hall during the Christmas Walk.
i-Pad Raffle
The James A. Garfield All Sports Boosters are selling tickets for a chance to win an i-Pad. Tickets are $5/each or 5 for $20. Child Advocates Needed
CASA (Child Appointed Special Advocates) for KIDS of Geauga County is recruiting volunteers to advocate for the “best interest” of abused and neglected children involved in the juvenile court. No particular background is required. You must be at least 25 years of age and have no criminal record. Couples may work together. 32 hours of pre-service training is provided. On Saturday, Nov 13: Stephens Memorial Observatory of Hiram College will host a free public observing night from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, weather permitting. On the observing list are the First Quarter Moon, planet Jupiter and its Galilean Moons, the Pleiades star cluster, and possibly other objects of interest. 4 C’s 2010 Craft Show

The 4 C’s food cupboard will host the 2010 Craft Show on Nov 13th from 9am-3pm at the Shalersville Town Hall on the corner of Rts. 44 and 303. Twenty-two crafters with a variety of unique items will be on display. Lunch will also be offered and includes homemade soups, chili, sandwiches, homemade pies and desserts. There will also be a quilt raffle and door prizes raffled throughout the day with a grand prize raffled at the end of the show (winner need not be present). For every non-perishable food item donated to the 4 C’s, a free raffle ticket will be given. Raffle tickets may also be purchased at the door. Please come and support the 4 C’s Food Cupboard.
