Craft Show Vendors are wanted for a show on Nov 8 from 4:30-9 and Nov 9th 9 – 3:00 at the Ravenna Elks Club 776 North Freedom Street Ravenna. Contact 330.697.8863 for an application. Cost is $55 and covers both days.

Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

Mantua Farmers Market

Saturdays

The Mantua Farmers Market Regular Season will be held on Saturdays from July 13 to September 21 9AM to 1 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 10827 North Main Street, Mantua. The Market features a wide variety of items. Vendors are need at $5.00 a Saturday. Fees go toward Church projects. For information call Diane 330-274-2868.

Young At Heart Meetings

Time For Tots

2nd & 4th Wednesdays

Children ages 2-5 (adults stay for fun, siblings welcome) are invited to Time for Tots on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Our goal is to provide a safe indoor environment for young children to play, craft, enjoy music & burn energy.  Time for Tots will run from 9/11/24 – 5/28/25. Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. We hope to see you there for good food and conversation.

New Historical Time Capsule

The James A. Garfield Historical Society would like to invite everyone to attend the dedication of the new time capsule on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:00 by the Clock Tower on High Street. The time capsule will be opened in 80 years in commemoration of the 300 year anniversary of the arrival of John and Eleanor Garrett’s family.

Swiss Steak Dinner

First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having our first fund-raiser drive-thru dinner of the season on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm.  Dinners are $15.00 and include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw, applesauce, green beans, corn, roll and cake.  Please enter from St Rt 44 and pull up to the back door. The church is located at 4022 St Rt 44 in Rootstown Center.

God Provides A Meal

 Windham UMC will be having their God provides meal September 27 from 4 to 5.  It is pick up only and you must have reserved your meals ahead of time. Free Chili Cook-Off Event

Saturday, October 5th 2024, from  4-6pm, The Fountain Church will be hosting a free chili cook- off. We are located north of Route 305 – at 12888 State Route 88 Garrettsville.Enter the contest with your best chili for $5! The judging will be by the public and cash prizes will be awarded for our winners! The public can come for FREE to be the “taster judges” and choose their favorite chili! IDEA Funds Meeting

Harvest Dinner

The North Bloomfield Historical Society will hold its annual Harvest Dinner on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00pm in the historic town hall on the square. Ham and fried chicken will be provided along with plates and utensils. Admission if free with a donation of a salad, vegetable or dessert.
